'North Star'. Newsletter of the Friends and Evening Meeting Schedule

The new 2017 season of Friends Lectures starts on September 18th. All Lectures are held at STEAM on a Monday evening, are free of charge and start promptly at 7.00 pm, with cold refreshments being available from 6.45 pm. Friends are invited to bring guests along to all lectures. We look forward to seeing you at STEAM soon.

Monday September 18th - Editor's Ramblings by Michael Baker - Editor of our own North Star journal.

Monday October 16th - It's a Mystery to Me by Iain McCall - The publisher of Locomotives International Magazine brings us a selection of the mystery (and mysterious!) photographs which have appeared in the magazine over the years. Come along and enjoy a presentation of the weird and wonderful side of railways around the world.

Monday November 20th - Swindon Works - The Collett Years by The Reverend Canon Brian Arman - Picking up from where Brian left us in his January 2017 lecture on the Golden Years at Swindon he will cover the challenges facing the Works after the First World War, the impact of amalgamations and the Grouping, and Collett's locomotive legacy and engineering developments.
